verizon router support?

hi guys i cant figure out how to change the settings, update, well anything for the verizon router when i put in 192.168.1.1 in the bar there up top it just surches for it on bing. plus every time i disconnect from the internet i have to restart the router i have no idea what im doing the router was given to me so i dont have the manual for it the modem/router is a gt704-wg model so please if you know how i can change the setins or anything please let me know thanks
