Verizon ripping us off again!

I was looking at some comparisons of phones between Sprint and my carrier, Verizon. I looked at the HTC Touch with both and was shocked! Sprint offers the phone for $99 with 2 year contract with the new Windows Mobile 6.1 and the microSD card. Verizon offers it as the XV6900 for $249 (or $149 if you belong to the new every two option), without the new Windows Mobile and without the microSD card!
It's bad enough that Verizon can't pick up some of the newer phones coming out, like the new Samsung i900 Omnia and then we get chopped down versions of newer phones. Case in point the HTC Touch Diamond that is not even going to have the accelerometer!
They need some major overhauling!!

Overhauling.... Just pick a different phone or go with a different carrier. My rule is to evaluate the best service provider in my area (NJ/NYC) and then choose a cell phone which that network provides. A great cell phone with a poor service provider leaves you with a poor cell phone. I have The DARE with Verizon, and very satisfied. good luck

Ellen, I really get better reception with Verizon where I live because it is in a rural area. The problem I have is simply that Verizon overcharges for everything. If you just go to the websites of Verizon and Sprint and look, you'll see. For a single plan with EVERYTHING included and unlimited, Verizon charges $139.99. Sprint charges $99 and the nights and weekends start 2 hours earlier on top of it! I have contacted Verizon and explained that this is simply not what their logo says, "Where we never stop working for you!"

Ellen, I agree with what you are saying. Some of my frustration simply comes from the fact that just when I get excited about something that is coming to Verizon, then it either gets routed away or changed to a lesser product than what others are getting. This comes somewhat from the upcoming release of the HTC Touch Diamond. I know it's petty, but when I put two or more things together like this it irritates me somewhat. Anyway, thanks for your input!!
