Verizon poor coverage in South Central Wisconsin.

My understanding is that Verizon wireless rents US cellular towers in a lot of the area where I live. Why is it that I can be standing in one spot with my Verizon phone & have no coverage even says no signal at times. My friend standing right next to me with his US Cellular phone has full coverage at the same time. This happens a lot in my area. All my towers/roaming updates are current. software/firmware is current. & my wife's Verizon phone does the same thing. It is not the phone. I don't want to leave Verizon because I like my LG ENv3 phone. Does US cellular have a lower grade signal for Verizon customers?:sad:
 
I have also heard the Verizon extender works well but it requires a broadband connection, it is really designed for helping you use a phone indoors. . I think you might be picking up a distant Verizon tower instead of a closer us cellular signal.
 
Give this a try... hey you never know....

do a *228 press option 2, i repeat option 2.... the update/reset will take about a minute...

After the phone is done and comes back on... hit *18... send.... this will bring in the closet cell tower.
