VERIZON motorola devour used with AT&T?

I have a motorola devour that is unlocked. i wanna do the go phone plan with at&t and they said i can use a phone if i already have one....since my devour is unlocked i should be able to use that phone right?
how can i tell the difference between a cdma and a gsm phone?

No, That's a CDMA phone and AT&T is GSM/HSPA.

the Devour is CDMA only and doesn't take SIM cards
AT&T is a GSM network, which is incompatible
