Verizon media store doesn't support purchases of ringtones for my phone?

I just tried to buy a ringtone, and I got that message. It says I can go on my phone and download the ringtones directly. Then it goes on to say if VZW Tones doesn't appear, I need to get the VZW tones application. Doesn't that mean I have to go on the internet on my phone to get it? Wth. I have a Motorola Razr.
