Verizon LG Dare phone problems! Freezing, turns on and off and low battery!?

Okay so I got my Dare phone in December 2008. Everything was going well put a few months later I noticed the "Message Sent" screen stayed on for a minute at least. Also when I would try to send a picture it would freeze up and stay frozen for about thirty seconds and would take a minute to send. When I wanted to save a picture or erase a picture, it would freeze yet again. Turning on my phone would also cause it to freeze for a minute or two. So in August 2009 I exchanged it. New Dare phone, same battery. I got it for free since they said I got there just in time before my warranty or something was over. I was willing to buy a different phone(new Voyager) but they were going to charge me $400 since I am on a two year contract. The new phone was good but a couple months later it started doing all the same things again, but now it's worse since my battery is failing. I can charge it all night but the four bars can go down to two in ten minutes. I can't even talk on the phone for fifteen minutes because it tells me my battery is dying even though it had been fully charged before. The strangest thing is that the battery can go back to two bars if I leave it alone for five minutes. So I was wondering if I can exchange my phone AGAIN but with a new battery. Can I get a new different phone at a cheaper price(a $400 phone isn't worth it to me)? Thank you! [:
