Verizon Fios connection problems. plz help?

Ok so the deal is that my family had verizon fios before we moved. After we moved we got our account switched to out new location. The technician came and set up everything. After using the internet, i noticed that i couldnt access certain websites like hotmail.com or weather.com, i could access them at my old house. I called verizon up and they told me that my ip address was too new? idk like it starts with a 173.... and told me that some websites will block it because they dont recognize our new ip address. plz help.. i seriously need my internet... i cant do anything with this limited access.. and the funny thing is that we are paying for the internet and the fios assistant was like.. " oh yeah you have to call up the websites that are blocking you and tell them not to".. it was complete bullshit cuz we fricking paying for it.... why would we need to do that..
