I have a blackberry that i got about 5 months ago, and I'm getting more and more frustrated with my so called "Smartphone". I've timed it, and on average it takes about a minute for me to do anything on it. opening my messages box, viewing a text message, going into "reply mode" and sending it takes about 5 min! this is ridiculous!

I went to a Verizon store and told them the problem, they asked me:

1) if I knew how to properly close running apps - yes, I knew how to do that - only the five you can't ever close were on.
2) how many apps I'd downloaded - two. I cant find any that I can't live without, plus my phone is really slow.
3) how often I powered it off - every couple days. I work for a company that also sells phones (better phones... I wish i could afford one of those) I know the general power rule for smartphones.
4) if I'd ever done a battery pull - yes. Several times. Recently, in fact, in attempt to reboot my phone to fix the slowness.

as I'm answering this last question he pulls my cell battery out and sticks it back in. we stand there for 10 min while it reboots, even he comments on how long it's taking. It finally displays the home screen, and he launches into a monologue about, a "battery pull" app, application memory, and the amount of free space I should have on my phone. He shows me how to look at it. I have 94.2 MB of free space. He says that excellent. he sends me on my merry way.
Several minutes later I receive a text! I open it. it takes about a min for my phone to think about how to do this. I'm back to square one.

Basically, my visit to the store was a waste of time. I found out that I am taking proper care of the device, but something is missing along the way. My question is: Does anyone out there know how I can remedy this problem? or do you know for sure that these phones are just a piece of crap and I should save up for a better one?

Quite honestly, at this point, I envy people with the flip phones.
