VERIZON BLACKBERRY AND TMOBILE SIDEKICK?

So i have a sidekick slide and i seriously want to get rid of it. And so my friend is selling a BLACKBERRY STORM. I am not too sure if its with TMOBILE. but if isnt. Is there anything i can do meaning call TMOBILE and try to say i switched PHONES? one of my friends said I CAN UNLOCK THE PHONE or something like that which i dont really understand. Can someone explain
 
OMG im in the same position. I have the sidekick 2009 and i wanted the bllackberry strom 2 sooooo bad. but tmobile and verizon arnt compatible. one of them is GSM and the other is CDMA so since they are two different things you cant switch and i wanted to do that lol. the only thing tmobile is compatible with is At&t

i know it totally sucks :(
