Verizon 30 Day Return Policy

Ok so I've had it with my new LG Dare phone and wanted to return it back to Verizon, unfortunately I went over the deadline by 2 weeks. Verizon said they could not accept the phone. Has anyone ever had any luck returning a phone with 1 or 2 weeks over the 30 day period? I suppose I could sell my LG Dare but then have to pay full price for a Blackberry. Any suggestions on how this can be done? Thanks.

After 30 days your out of luck unless you find a friendly CSR who lets you slide. You are probably going to have to sell it and hope you get most of the original price back.

Try and call their toll free number and let them know your situation, and state that you want to upgrade. They may give you a break. If not, purchase insurance.

Interesting because LG Dares sell on ebay for around $200 and crackberries aslso sell for around $200. I purchased my dare for about $79 from Verizon so I could work. I'm not sure what to look for when buying a phone from ebay. But that will be my next post.

The key phrase here may be, "... unless you find a friendly CSR who lets you slide." Verizon has its contract guidelines and policies, but they still want your business, and most of the money they make is thru payments of your monthly bill, not on the phone. Since you're only a couple of weeks past the cutoff, a friendly rep may be able to bend the rules a little. In a similar situation, I bought a Jabra BT3030 bluetooth headset at my VZW store. The headset had a 30-day return policy, even though it had a one-year warranty. After about six weeks, the unit started to malfunction, so yesterday I took it back to the store. Now it was still well within the warranty period, and I ended up having them replace it. Before getting the replacement, however, I asked the CSR if I would have the option of trading up to a more expensive bluetooth headphone set. She said probably not because a trade-up like that would have to take place within the 30-day period. However, she checked and found that because (like your situation) I was only a couple of weeks beyond the deadline, they would be able to allow me to get the more expensive unit if I wanted to. It never hurts to ask.
