have you seen your doc for a good full check up that would also include getting all the normal basic labs done including the hepatic panel? believe me, depending upon just how YOUR body and the liver is as far as sensitivity to alcohol and anything else that you could also be using/taking like what tylenol can do to the liver espescially when you have been drinking, anything IS possible.
the absolute best true way of getting the very best overall picture of any organ really is with the labs being done AND at the very least, good ultrasound being done as well. it gives you the functions and that look too which in some cases can actually show abnormalities you did not even know you had or were actually born with? this happened with my son, then with me too. labs will ONLY go out of the norm range when actual functions are being impacted or impaired in some way. this is why getting that good look at the actual organ thru some type of at least US scan really IS crucial to really just 'know'. i have huge globs of cysts in my kidneys and liver and yet my labs look amazingly perfect still. they WILL eventually go out of the norm ranges as my particular disease process just progresses? but looking at those 'perfect' labs then seeing what an ugly mess shows upon any scan, just amazes me and really shocks me. they just don;t look like a match, ya know?
what you are showing and any likelyhood of this being actually liver related can ONLY be one possible thing IF this is indeed an actual liver issue? its called portal hypertension when that very important portal vein becomes blocked by some type of scarring like in the case of chirhosis? since that blood can no longer just flow freely thru that P vein, all that normal bloodflow will just back up into the vessels and also back into the liver and other organs too. do you notice any swelling in the upper quadrant of your abdomen or tenderness upon palpation at all? what i just described did occur with our youngest son at only age 12 from this same PKD gene that is casueing my cystic nightmare. it mutated in him and started creating little fibers growing within his liver since before he was even born. we did NOT have the slightest clue he was even sick til he was actually IN that portal hypertension phase. shocked the hell outta me let me tell ya. that is also when I found out i even HAD a kidney liver disease MY whole life, just did not actually know til i had that US done that showed how horrid the cystic development was in my own kidneys and my liver too(i also just had great labs too so there was no reason to actually "think' anything was wrong). i was actually around 40 when this was found.
honestly? when it comes to the human body, anything is indeed possible. just to make certain that what you are seeing is not an actual liver issue, make that appt with your primary who can do the labs and also palpate the abdominal too for any possible changes to organs. at your age, the actual 'likelyhood' of this being liver related from drinking is actually pretty small. but like i said, anything just IS possible here so DO get this checked out,K? hopefully this is just 'you' and not something else, but you wont really know anything unless you get this fully evaluated by your doc. please keep me posted, FB
