I've been dealing with back and abdominal pain as long as I can remeraber. I'm a 49 year old male and military retiree. My abdominal pain started early after a trip to the Philippines. To make a long story short, eventually after 20 years it got better. Then the back problems started. I had stiffness in my right calf, right arm tingled and left side of the face would go nurab. And then the twitching started. All over my body. Sometimes I couldn't sleep at night because of it. At first they thought I had MS. Then they found two bad discs in my neck. I held out as long as possible but when I started getting electric shocks down my arms from just stepping off a curb, I had the two discs removed. All seemed to go well for a while. I still had slight twiching, mostly around the elbows, but it was tolerable. A few years ago I started having a nawing pain in my upper abdomin that would go straight through me to my back. It would be severe at times, but then would subside and go away for a while. They looked at my insides with an ultrasound and then with a scope down my throat. All's fine they said except for mild inflamation (which I've heard several times over the years). Well, about a year and a half ago, my middle back started hurting. At first it would go through to the front of me (just the oppsite of before). I had MRI's done. Doc said I have a mild degenerative problem throughout my entire spine, which may be causing the problem. Until recently it would come and go. Now although the pain and stiffness could be anywhere from my neck to my butt, it's concentrated in the middle of the left side of my back. My left side is always tight. It goes around my left rib cage to the front of my ribs. It also seems to cause pressure on my stomach. Which is making my Stomach upset. Bubbling, going to the bathroom to often and also peeing often. Sorry for the long diatribe but my question is; could this all be related to my bad spine? Even though it's what the doctor called mild. Is the tightness in my left side and stomach upset caused by it also? I've also had a variety of other symptoms over the years but I'll spare you the details, although I will say this, I contracted Herpes 25 years ago and when I have an outbreak, which is seldom now, all my symptoms get worse. Let me know what you think! God bless us all!
