Vampire Diaries book series question...?

Are the books very good? I was going to read the series, but thought they looked a little ridiculous, just stretching another "vampire" story line...But when the new series started on CW, I loved it! Any thoughts? Are the books as lame as they seem, or are they worth a read?
 
Vampire Diaries is really good. But truthfully, it takes a while to get into and after awhile, like by the fourth part and the new series of it, its confusing and hard to keep up with. But I personally love the first three parts. The new series on the CW is definitely different though, with different character personalities along with adding and taking out other characters.

The books are definitely not lame though <33 but keep in mind they are almost 2 decades old- you usually can't tell though ^^
 
i started reading them.. i finished the first two, and about to finish the third.. they are all like one story i think.. becuase not much happens really in the one story.. but if u want my opinion.. i think twilight is waaaay better.
