Value of '82 GS1100E?

Hey All,
New to the forums. I've been looking at an '82 GS1100E for sale in town. A little beat up, corbin seat, vance and hines exhaust, k&n filter. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me approximately how much this bike is worth. NADA's website doesn't go back as far as '82 for Suzuki.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

$1200 tops, and that's if the tires are decent. Really, just about any large bike from the early 80's is worth $8-1200. There's sort of a plateau in bike prices when they're that old, and it all depends on condition. You can get a much newer, likely much nicer bike for only a few hundred more and for $3000 you can get something pretty clean from the late 90's and on.

I have the same bike. They sell on Ebay all the time for more than that. I would pay $2000-3000 depending on the shape it is in and miles. Mine has 5K original miles and barely a scratch on it. I would not trade it for any new bike on the market today.

Depends on what you want to spend honestly.:)

The Kelly Blue Book lists the "E" model at between $1140 and $1740 (based on the actual selling price of that model over the last 6 months), with the high end being if you buy it from a dealer that has reconditioned it for sale. As you describe yours as "a little beat up", I'd aim for the bottom to middle of that range. I did a quick check with a buddy of mine who does motorcycle coverage for a major company showed that the insurance company would give you between $1400 and $1500 if you wrecked one in pretty good condition.
But as other have pointed out, if you find someone who really likes it and really wants it, they might be willing to pay far more than book value because they want that particular bike. But your chances of this are slim if the bike is not in near perfect, unmodified condition.
