Hey, I've been looking on FoxNews and Cnn.com and all that and I can't find all the details about this. Does anyone know what's going on with it...
On the news, they were saying that VA is trying to make a settlement with the victim's families from the VA Tech shooting. They said they'd give $100,000 to each of the families who either lost a loved one or whose child was shot & survived if they didn't sue Tech. That number is 32 families. So, $3,200,000.
First of all, a person's life is priceless. Even 10 Billion dollars isn't enough to bring back those people. Yet $100,000 seems so small....
On the other hand, why should VA have to give the families anything? There is nothing anyone could have done to stop it before it started, right? I mean, hindsight is 20/20, so it's easy to criticize what school officials did or didn't do. It's coming out of tax payer $, so why not give $ to every family who loses someone to murder? Why does VA "owe" this? And do you think they should do it?
