exactly what mobileobsession posted..if you're on cingular, then you really have no choice b/c the V3x is tri-band only and it doesn't have the 850. i have this phone and i'm getting rid of it. it's a nice phone, but the one thing that just drives me absolutely crazy is the software is soooooo glitchy! it may just be my phone, but it sucks! here are some of the issues:
- i'll get random phone book entries where if i try to access them, it'll crash the phone book and close it out.
- on occasions, when i power down the phone to change batteries, then power it back up, the dialed calls and received calls menus stop working. it'll magically start working again several days later after i have gone thru several power cycles.
- the battery life is flat out terrible...i use a 2 battery system...re-charging one while using the other.
- the rubberized paint is already starting to flake off in spots.....
i'm sure there are firmware updates that can fix some of these issues, but you run the risk of bricking your phone....who needs the hassle....but, then again, it could just be my phone....
i'm done with motorola phones....
