USMC Boot Camp leave dates...Recruiters please. ?

I have been hearing that ship dates for boot camp are like way out in to August 2009, is this just affecting the Male Poolees or are female ship dates like this also? Also, I want to do 0231, an intel field and I hear that is pretty rare to come by, so what advice do you have to help me attain that mos?
 
Your ship date is affected by what MOS you choose. If you choose something like admin or supply I'm sure you could leave ASAP, but more popular MOSes like infantry or Intel, you have to wait a while for a spot to open up. Your recruiter can request to have a job that you want moved up and transferred from another district. But don't hold your breath.

If Intel is something you want, WAIT. I know it's a b!tch, but I would rather wait 8 months than hate my life for the next 4 years because my MOS sucks balls.
