Hey i have a mazda 323 and for the first time i used the 'hold' button yesterday.

i was on a straight travelling at 70km\h and i clicked the button on the automatic T-bar.

the car picked up a lot more power!!

is using this button bad for the car?

also using D2, is that bad?

thanks

It is running the engine little bit faster. Is it bad? NO - that is what that is for.

The D2 just tells the tranny to limit itself to first or second gear. It is mostly used when pulling lot of weight or going up steep hills.

The condition of your engine is MORE dependent on your maintenance habit that your driving style. If you drive your engine real hard but give it good maintenance you will in better condition than somebody who drive is slow but give it bad maintenance.

How am I sure? I know plenty of girls who drive gently but don't maintain their cars well. Their cars are always falling apart. I drive my 94 Civic to the redline everyday. Yet with 187K miles it runs like new (because I give it good maintenance).

Good Luck...
