The question is as follows:
An airplane's velocity is recorded at 5 min intervals during a 1 hour period with the following results, in mph:
550, 575, 600, 580, 610, 640, 625, 595, 590, 620, 640, 640, 630.
Use Simpson's rule to estimate the distance traveled during the hour.
Well I used delta x as 1/12 because 5 mins would be the delta x and in hours that would be 1/12 hours.
and inside the simpsons rule equation i used the numbers above and added them together and multiplied them by (1/36).
The answer I got was 7885/36 which is approx 219.03 miles.
Did I do this problem correctly?
Your assistance is appreciated
Thanks
