Upon moving into my new home the previous owners left behind 2 3100 receivers and a HD 6100 receiver complete with the smart cards.

I was going to bundle my services through Bell.

If I purchase Express Vu from Bell can i automatically use these 3 receivers that arent registered to me.

Several classified adds also sell these items is it a complicated process to transfer ownership of them.

If Bell's records show they're owned by someone else, you might have a hard time convincing them they were just left behind. They could also be rentals. You might have to have the owner contact Bell, to ok the transfer of ownership to you. It's odd they would just leave them behind!?

phone bell first and see if the receivers are on the account. the person might have removed them from his account

Have you hooked them up to see if they work.?

If they do, enjoy, until they stop......lol

They left all the original boxes, the manuals, cords, etc so i doubt they are stolen as it all has the original packaging and the smart cards, they moved to an apartment that doesn't face the right direction, was going to Subscribe to Bell but haven't yet wanted to check to see if these would work on a new account, last time I called bell support for internet issues I couldn't understand the CSR so didn't want the hassle of explaining it to them.

The chances are they are Rental units and they may even still be paying for the service.

Try them.

The answer is no...

If the account in which they are activated it still active you might get channels for a period of time (until the account gets disconnected), after that time they won't be of any use

A receiver is always pre-registered when it left the store (unless store, has it sometimes happen), doesn't follow Bell's policies

It doesn't matter what you tell Bell when you call (they were left behind, they were given to me) the person in which account the receiver was originally has to autorise the transfer

When an account is closed the receivers that person had are still link to that account and that person still has to call to autorise the transfer, even if it's been many years

A receiver is never removed from an account unless it is returned to Bell (return of rental units or broken units) or transfered to another account. If a person calls and say they are no longer using a unit the agent will deactivate that unit, but it will remain registered in that account
