If I were to start a small personal training business out of my home, in my basement, and purchased some start-up equipment/machinery, can I write that equipment off on my taxes? I realize I probably couldn't write it off if this were just a hobby, but if I were to register it as a business, get liability insurance, and whatever else I needed to do. Any help would be appreciated, seeing as how I have NO business/marketing experience.
