Using N71 in the US

Can someone shed some light on whether the N71 will work in the US?

I know its Triband and doesn't support 850Mhz, but is it completely useless in the US?

I use the N93 and its tri-band. I do have some problems in a couple of areas but for the most part it works great for me. But it all depends on where you are going to be using the phone.

I'm abroad and will be arriving in the US in a couple of months and was thinking of buying the N71. I just love the clamshell form factor.

Would you mind telling me what exactly you mean by having problems in certain areas and where I will be using it?

Thanks for the reply.

The US provider cingular uses the 850Mhz band in some areas. So in some areas if all they have is 850Mhz available then you get no reception. it my area it isnt so bad. But for some people the phone it unusable because they are in a 850Mhz dominated area.

If you use T-mobile(US) you shouldn't have any problems. I've been up and down the East Coast, in Montreal, and on the West Coast with no problems.

I have it w/ T-Mobile, no problems...

except, it would be best you purchased a US authorized version....

if something breaks, Nokia won't help you if it is made for another country....
