using my verizon phone to send videos to my email.....?

I took a couple videos on my verizon phone and I wanted to maybe put them on youtube. I sent them to my email like usual and I downloaded the files from my email to my computer. I noticed the video would play, but no sound would come out. I checked the videos on my phone and the sound was just fine. I tried sending them again to my hotmail account to see if there would be any difference, but it still downloaded with no sound. How do I get the videos with sound? Should I just send them to my online album on verizon and see if I can save them from there?
