Using my sprint number on whatsapp?......?

I have a sprint phone but I also have an old iphone that has no service. I downloaded the app, whatsapp, on the iphone and used my sprint number as the phone number on whatsapp. I can chat internationally on this app but I am wondering...will it charge me on my sprint bill because I am using my sprint number?
