Im using my lcd tv as my monitor for my desktop and when i turn my desktop on the tv shows nothing. I am using an HDMI cable to connect my desktop to the tv but nothing is showing. I have restarted my computer multiple times
does anyone know what to do?

can you try doing this and look if this works? get your tv's remote control and try looking for a "source button" that way your monitor knows where's the source of the image it's suppose to display? it's like having options like (analog, video, cable, PC) like those things, it's what i do with our lcd, but i don't use hdmi cable, just the normal cable, it's not panasonic actually, it's samsung, when i connect my desktop there to play games (it's fun to play with the lcd for it's so huge lol) i just turn on the PC and click the source button on the remote and then it's there, i just reconfigure the resolution, and i can also check if any good shows are on HBO clicking the source and changing in to cable and back to PC again, well there you go just look for your "SOURCE" button hope i helped

That's a good start. You should get a dual display that might default to extended desktop.
Not what you want, but it is a start.
You haven't specified your system, so the rest of this may be on target or just a little help.
Right click on your desktop and look for Graphics Properties. Select.
If this works, I don't think you'll have any problems from there.
You want to set up your TV as a single monitor at its full resolution. As I have done here.
Then, whenever you turn on the TV and set the input to HDMI, your TV will be your primary display.
Just as I have it here on my Dell.
If that doesn't work out, try properties/personalize (right click on desktop).
On my system, that gets messy. You do need to have the TV active as already suggested here.
You need to have dual display or extended desktop mode active to set up the TV as your default display (when it is active, computer will automatically use it).
Good luck.
