Using MAP feature on pearl.

So I just got my new pearl and I dont yet have a data plan... however the MAP application on my phone DOES work, i can view different streets in different countrys etc....

At the bottom, in the map application it says: Data downloaded: 201.7 kb.
Im a Rogers user in Canada... does this mean im gonna have to pay huge becaues i was fooling around on the maps?? Im hoping that because I dont have a data plan that the phone wasnt downloading data and it was pre-programmed in...

Any ideas??
 
Ive never had a data plan...
well at least never had a BB before. I just got it last week, and put in my sim card from my old phone.. at the top of my pearl it says: Data connection refused
 
its an ongoing issue, some people aren't able to download any maps without a bb plan, however, they're those who are able to do so. unfortunately, you can be charged $0.05/kb// i suggest calling rogers to find out any more details.
