Using internet on samsung omnia pro?

Okay.. well recently i purchased the samsung omnia pro phone from TELSTRA and it's not locked or anything so i placed my optus simcard in. However when i attempt to use internet explorer on it, it wont work and says there's no connection even though my reception bar is full. I thought it may possibly be because i currently have no mydata (credit used for internet browsing) but i do have credit and usually you can use the internet using your credit.

What do i do?! D:
