My car CD player has a USB slot which I routinely use with a 2gb USB stick. I recently got a portable external hard drive that is shock/vibration resistant so I figured why not use it in my car. The light on the hard drive lights up when I plug it into the USB slot on my stereo but the stereo does not read the mp3s that I have on the hard drive. I am wondering if this is a format issue. The hard drive is supposed to be Fat32 so that it works with PC and Mac. I always thought USB flash drive sticks were also Fat32 so formatting would not be an issue. Perhaps I am wrong. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
