Using after market lubricants for Honda Civic.?

So, I traded cars with my mom for couple days to do some maintenance and like good son looked at lubrication cart. BUT engine oil, coolant, brake, ATF fluids you name it ! under every fluid there is big disclaimer to use aftermarket fluids ONLY in emergencies and ALWAYS to use Honda lubricants or otherwise you car WILL EXPLODE!!!! I know that’s marketing strategy but I’m better of using their lubricants to prolong life of the car or should stick with regular stuff?
 
I have had Honda's for years, and never wasted money on Honda lubricants.
Stick with the regular stuff.
They would make you sign a disclaimer if it was true.
That was seriously put on the car? OMG. That would freak me right out.
 
It does not say the car will explode.

Honda Power Steering Fluid is unique to Honda vehicles. It is true you can't use any generic PS fluids or ATF in a Honda PS system but Honda spec PS fluid is available in the aftermarket. As is Honda-spec ATF and Coolant.
