I have small amounts of rust appearing on both the hatch and one of the wheel wells on my '98 Golf. I want to get rid of it before It becomes a real eyesore, but I have a couple questions.
1. Most of the instructional videos on this sort of project include a powered hand held sander. Unfortunately I can't quite justify the cash for that sort of equipment. Would using a rubber sanding block be advisable for this sort of job?
2. Do I need any other supplies other than paint acquired from a dealership, clear coat and 1500 - 2000 grit sand paper? Keeping in mind that I'm only touching up small areas.
