Hi,
I have both a A50 and a A55 and I would like to use them as a modem, basically to send and receive SMS messages (very handy, since they are low cost!). I found that there is no answer from the phones when using AT commands (serial ports are ok since I have already unlock them successfuly). I wonder if there is a specific patch to enable the modem functions, or is that I may need to load another sw version?

Any pointers are welcome.

A50 and A55 don't support AT commands!

But you can convert A55 to C55, afterward it will support AT commands

Right Chris,

I found out that the A50 supported a limited set of AT commands, basically to act as a modem (call setup, hangup, terminal ID and stuff like that), but not all the AT command set as to send/receive sms or handle the directory information.

I ended up converting the A50 to an C45 and now it works ok for what I need it!

For those interested, the conversion ran smoothly: I did the HW modifications, then uploaded a full flash image of a C45 v50 (using Vklay sw) and then unlock the terminal using Freia V15. It showed indeed the erratic blinking of the display leds, but nothing that disturbs me. I simply switch them off permanently from the menu.

I may give it a try for the A55 too, but I still have to find the right info first. Any pointers?

Regards.
