Use your BB as a modem

To use your BB as a modem on the Rogers network::

1) Be sure that you have desktop manager installed. If you don't it doens't work.

2) Go to your network setting and ..Create a new connection... Connect to the internet at my workplace... Dial-Up connectionHere you should see Standard Modem (this is your phone, if it's not there run desktop manager and plug your phone in, then try again)Enter a name for the connectionEnter the phone number... For ROGERS this number is *99#3) Go to your control panel (or Right Click My Computer, ...Properties)Select Hardware tab, then Device ManagerSelect Modems, right click Standard Modem, select ...PropertiesSelect the Advanced tab and enter the following in the box: +cgdcont=1,"IP","internet.com"4) Go back to your network settings and double click your new connection, you can now surf the web on your laptop using your BB!

5) The Username: wapuser1
Ths Password: wap
 
I went through steps 1 and 2 and the connection wizard asked for a user name and password. Not having read to the bottom of your instructions I made one up and clicked dial. The connection worked! Any thoughts? I did not input the information in step 3 or use the user name and password you listed. Have I messed anything up?
