Little question.
I found out about the "USB Sync Cable & Charger"(HERE).
This would be very convenient of course. My friend has a Zire and she doesnt need to walk around with a craddle to sync her info. A simply USB cable will do.

But let's say I want to transfer music or a program or something from some computer to my T3 using that Sync Cable, do I still have to install Palm Desktop or Quick Install on the "host" computer? In other terms, is there a way to sync info from a computer to a T3 without having to go through quick install or palm desktop? For example, imagine you are using a public computer where you cannot install a program but you need to transfer a file from that computer to your T3. Is it doable?
 
Either through a card reader and using the SD card as the transfer ala a "floppy disk drive" or I beleive you can get a program called "card export" without having to use hotsync but I've not used it.

The only other way might be through a WiFi connection using the newly available T3 Wifi card and then emailing a file to yourself?

The best way would be to have a card reader/writer connected to the PC and transfer files via the Windows Exploder application to the SD card but to get most programs installed - your better off getting hotsync installed because some programs don't load well from the SD card.
 
As suggested by Moose Man, CardExport II (available at PalmGear) is a good application to read & write files to your your SD card without having to take it out of your PDA.

Once your USB hotsync cable is connected to the USB port of the PC (and CardExport is ON), you will see your SD card as another drive in Windows Explorer. You can then transfer and copy files as easily (and as fast) as the other local PC drives. It's plug and play (at least in all my WindowsXP PCs), no desk top softwares are needed (just like a mini USB memory stick).

I've never taken out my SD card since I got it, and I can load and unload MP3 files in a flash. I can also defragment my SD card from the PC, and easily back-up all the SD cards content in minutes.
 
I also use CardExport. It is a great utility to have! Not only can you transfer MP3s, you can transfer native MS Office documents. I have actually been able to open the files directly from the SD card while using my desktop.

Another great thing about CardExport is that you do not need to install Palm Desktop or HotSync on the computer you want to connect to.
