Is there anyone in the Air Force that can chat with me about attending the Air Force Military Science Academy?
I have several questions. I feel like the recruiter has his own ideas of what I should be doing- but I need to be in control of what I do with my life. Thats not the Air Force's decision- it's mine. After I sign up I have no control over what they do with me.
I'm not going to be a pawn unless its got some perks and I'm genuinely satisfied with what I'm doing.
I posted a question earlier detailing the situation. If you click on my thingy you can see the questions I recently posted. I'm sure its listed in the military topic. I just asked it a few hours ago.
They recommended Officer Training (but they said after I join, go through basic- etc.) I want something better and dont want to wind up comfortably settling for less than what I initially wanted. Since I have my college credits and I made a 90 on my AFQT they said I could have whatever job I wanted.
I want to develop and do weapons research. Large scale explosives, biochemical warfare, nukes, electromagnetic weaponry... etc.
I love physics (quantum mechanics, physics) and biology and chemistry.
I think he told me that they would pay for my school and I would just apply it officially with the USAF after I graduated but I'm just confused. I need to ask more than one question. If there is anyone out there up right now that can chat with me for a little bit- I'd appreciate it!
I'll of course, give you best answer (not sure why its so coveted- but I don't mind and will oblige.)
I kind of want to speak to an officer or someone in this particular field- I'm not "enlisted" yet- so I am not fraternizing. I'm still a civilian.
I just need some guidance. This commitment is a big one and its not my only option right now. I just want to make a well rounded choice.
I don't know what to do and need a lot of objective opinions and more than one person advising me. Not that I don't trust the recruiter. I just think that I don't want to look back wishing I had done exactly this. 6 years is a long time. I'm selling the rest of my 20's away. I'll be 30 by the time my initial enlistment is up if I choose to do it.
