USAF- Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD)?

I know EOD works with the army when deployed, does this mean I would be living under the army's standards like most TACP? Or would I still be still living on the Air Force base? I hear theirs a large drop out rate in EOD training.. is this because recruits give up on themselves or cannot pass test?
