Research released Tuesday by QS World University Rankings shows that 6 of the top 10 colleges globally are located in the USA.
The other 4 spots in the top 10 are occupied by institutions in the United Kingdom. The U.K. has 3 colleges in the top 5.
Academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty and proportion of international students are among the indicators that QS uses to compile its rankings.
