so, i'm travelling in the US for work. and i like the idea of paying 10 cents a minute for prepaid calls a lot more than the roaming rates charged by rogers on my canadian account.
Cingular (AT&T) has been giving me reasonable service, but i know they dont offer canadian roaming on prepaid. T-mobile does. This feature isn't that important. But it could come in handy in times of emergency.
I'm about to buy a $100 prepaid card, but before i take the plunge on AT&T i want to make sure that it's the right thing to do. T-mobile doesnt have the best network from what I understand, however i know they roam on other peoples networks now. So how's the coverage. I'm going to be in Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, and Maine in the next month or two. And i'll probably go down to california at some point in time for vacation also. Will T-mobile offer the same coverage? or should i stick to AT&T.
thanks for the advice. I know it's not quite the right forum, but i dont know what is.
you guys could recommend prepaid t-mobile phones. do they offer anything quadband for a good price? I'm using a dash right now, but i'm probalby going to buy another phone (activation kit) if i do make the switch and use it as a spare.
EDIT: Forgot to mention. Here in arkansas my blackberry 8800 on rogers (roaming on AT&T) is consistently outperforming my dash (on AT&t), and the Z300A i bought from cingular. it gets better reception then the locals phones! AS well as my coworkers telus handsets. So what prepaid handset offers the best RF from either of the two carriers?
