US Cellular prepaid question?

so my parents just switched from prepaid plans with US cellular to a normal plan. i purchased my fathers prepaid phone and plan to take over his plan. the phone my father had isnt to my liking and i have a friend who has a us cellular phone i enjoy, he just upgraded to the htc desire so he doesnt need this phone now. with a prepaid plan will i be able to switch the phone i bought from my father to the phone i can get from my friend?
 
There is no plan to switch. The only thing you would be switching is the number. And as long as it is the same carrier, you should be able to do so without much trouble. If they are different carriers, there could be a problem.

Another thing to consider is if either phone is a smart phone. Certain carriers require all phones to have Data plans, if your dad's phone was a regular phone, and the new one is a smartphone, be prepared to shell out an extra $30 every month.
