US 3G Nokia

Does anyone know if part of the reason why nokia has yet to release any US 3G phones in north america is because of the dispute between Qualcomm and Nokia? It seems that way because nokia will finally launch the n75 only after nokia bought the temporary rights from qualcomm or something.
 
While I don't have any concrete evidence to support this, I think it has ALOT to do with Qualcomm, but also other factors. I think you'd enjoy reading the Olly and the Guru section from my site, we had about a 2-3 hr long IM conversation (that i broke up into 5 sections) about this. We both feel that Nokia is going to, for the most part, skip 3G in the US completely.
 
The short version of the Olly and the Guru series is that we think Nokia's going to skip US 3G and go headstrong into WiMax. They're poised to do this with Sprint (obviously) and since they're building out T-mobile USA's 3G service, and T-mobile has a TON of WiFi Hotspots, they'll do UMA with them to mix 3G and WiFi and then migrate towards WiMax as well.
 
This Crap really pisses me off............This is why America is stupid......Qualcomm can keep there stupid CDMA bulls**t.......I'm fine with Edge + Wifi!!!!!!!!!!!
 
wow i didnt know this was such a sensitive issue! exactly how large is nokia compared to qualcomm... again i know nothing about the size of the two companies, but i feel like nokia could just eat up qualcomm whole... and if they can, they should
