Urban poets? Urban poetry?

Hi I read "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" by 2pac Shakur

Are there any other recommended books like that and who are some of the popular urban/modern poets? I am into poetry but I really am not into classical poems, I like more modern stuff that is deep

Most people post there poems on this board and they are new and pretty modern..You don't usually see people using "thou and thee" if thats what you mean. So just look around.
 
You eat s-h-i-t & love it.

this morning, you had s-h-i-t with eggs.

at lunch, you're biting into a toasted s-h-i-t sandwich

and at supper, you'll eat s-h-i-t with potatoes

drenched in diarrhea sauce.



on saturday, you go to the s-h-i-t store

and buy it for 5 cents a ton.

you'll take a day off if they're selling s-h-i-t for 4 cents a ton.

then you'll make 2 trips,

come home carrying bags & bags of it.



if s-h-i-t were music, you'd sing it all day.

if s-h-i-t were a religion, you'd be its pope.

if the pacific ocean turned into s-h-i-t ,

you'd turn into a fish.

if s-h-i-t were a book, you'd be reading aloud from it.



there's no need for you to wear s-h-i-t perfume,

s-h-i-t cologne,

or double s-h-i-t -scented underarm deodorant.

we can small you coming

from miles away.
