Monday morning, while finishing my coffee on the couch, I did something to my back that instantly made it hurt...shooting a pain up my spine. It starts right between my shoulder blades and is worse when I tilt my head down or to the sides. It was getting better a little until this morning while still in bed, I tried to pull the covers over me a little more and it struck again....and more severe this time. I could not find a position that would make it subside and got out of bed. Now it is very annoying and painful. If I sit on the couch and lean my head back it is OK, but any other movement causes the pain to shoot up my spine. It feels like a pulling type of pain...if that makes sense.
I am a 34yr old male who is in pretty good shape. I raced motorcycles for a living for 15yrs and continue to ride some. My body is pretty beat up, but I have never felt this certain pain before. Can anyone tell me what it could be or has anyone felt this before? Also, should I see a Dr or just take it easy until it feels better?
