upload convert and compress dvd for ipod video????????

im looking for a free program i can get off the internet that will allow me to upload dvds that i own onto my computer compress them and convert them so i can put them on my ipod video?

please help asap

first, you need to get a DVD ripper, to get the video off the DVD and into a video file. Then, you just need a video converter that converts the format of your video into iPod-compatible format(which I believe is probably MP4)
