As an existing customer, how does one upgrade to HD from SD. Will Bell supply the hardware and installation free ? I realize you will need to purchase or rent the 9141 but what about the hardware outside ?
Thanks.

For myself, I had to purchase the complete setup (PVR and Dish) even if I had already the Dish. with a 2 year contract, the price is like on the web site (499$).

But read this carefully. I asked the Bell representative on the phone that I was angry that new customer have a 200$ rebate when they purchase the system but me, as a 5 year subscriber to Bell, I have nothing. The girl just gave me almost 225$ of rebate just like that. Just ask for it and you will get it. :D

2 days after, the system was installed by professional at home. They changed the Dish even if the other one was still in good condition.

Peterfreedom, when you say they showed up 2 days later to install the new hardware outside you mean you didn't know they were coming ? I'm not as concerned about the new receiver price as I am the new hardware outside and the installation of it.

Call Shaw direct and see what they would offer you to switch to them and then call and ask for the loyalty dept at Bell.

Earlier this year, A Shaw TV (Starchoice) came to my door selling when he found out i was with bell he offered me a free hd receiver and some programming. I waited a week and called Bell and spoke with the loyalty dept and right off the top the gentleman on the other end offered me a HD receiver rental free for 2 years or a HD PVR rental free for a year. The install was included. The install included the new dual lnb, dish and switch and 1 run into the receiver in the house.

Subscribing to any channel on the second bird at 82 degrees will mean you need the Upgrade. This is still free as long as you keep those Channels for 12 months.

So, going from SD to HD you get a free Upgrade.
