Updating your OS and losing MyFavs?

Ok, since I don't have MyFavs I never know how to answer the question:

"How do I get MyFavs back after updating to a new OS?"

So can someone tell me that has MyFavs? Does re-sending your service books get it back?

I'm just trying to help out some fellow TMO users.

Thanks everyone!

I have myFaves and I've upgraded my OS several times. I'm pretty sure that it involves the service books. After the upgrade, once the phone registers on the network again and starts downloading the service books, it gives a message on the screen saying "your myFaves contacts have been refreshed." At this point, the myFaves icon will reappear on the screen with your contacts already set up and ready to use. I hope this helps.

there are a few cod files in the Tmobile OS version, but I assume the service books would tell your phone to re-download them, just as Tmobile does with that OZ chat program.

It's a service book issue, most of the times you can get it back by re-sending service books, sometimes, a call to tmo to have them refresh is needed too...

Sometimes it takes powering the phone down and powering back up to get the sim card to reconnect with the system. Had to do it twice in a Pearl that was recently wiped due to a JVM error before it showed the myfaves icon on the screen.
