...zero while driving? The battery is brand new yet the needle continues to drop. The car hasn't died or needed to be given a jump yet. I also had the alternator checked at auto zone and it came out ok. What could be the problem? I am going to go to a shop this weekend and don't want my wallet to bleed to death. Thanks in advance for any help. Please no douche bag answers. I appreciate any serious suggestions.

Most likely cause is a faulty gauge. If you are relatively comfortable doing your own repairs or know someone who is familiar with electrical components, I would ask them for help before taking it to a shop. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee which is waived if you have repairs done in their shop.
