The old Nokia Maps that came with my 5230 could get GPS fix (I tried with the coordinates thingie), so the GPS module works. When I went to load the maps with Ovi Suite, I thought "why don't I also upgrade it to the latest version", so that's what I did, and replaced Nokia Maps with Ovi Maps. I then loaded the maps, and... it didn't work. It can't find a GPS fix no matter how long I leave it to do its thing.
Note that I can't use data, as I don't have (and don't intend to get) a data plan; the whole phone is set to never connect to the internet at all - I need Maps to work on the GPS module alone.
How do I get it to behave?
