Hi Schragie,
I actually made myself get up and shower and went to lunch with my Mom today. My brain is not quite as fuzzy but I still have a rotten headache, nausea, and tremors..... and now I have this strange humming in my ears. I'm really not a hypochondriac and I don't THINK I am imagining all these weird feelings. I'm a person who used to always be on the go and now I just can't make myself go out of the house. It will all get better...I hope. Is everyone warmer today?? :)

Deb

Glad you got out of the house. It was much warmer and sunny in Jersey today, which my back (and mood) really enjoyed.

BTW, had shaky hanRAB and nausea/no appetite for weeks after increasing my dose, but at last it's passed. I find the tremors in my hanRAB extremely annoying and erabarrassing -- especially at work. Hope your symptoms pass soon....so you can try something else that works better for you.

And you're probably not imagining it re: side effects, but wouldn't it be nice to wake up tomorrow and find that all this back nonsense was just a dream?

Good Morning,
I'm still weaning off the Cyrabalta and this is absolutely not fun. :( I'm not quite at half dose yet (I miscounted the pellets, there are more like 190-200, they are not all the exact same). The past three days have been very hard.....tremors, increased pain, nausea, headache not relieved by meRAB, anxiety, fatigue, brain fog. I had to call in sick yesterday and I don't know how I will go to work next week. If I wasn't so afraid I would just stop completely over the weekend and get it over with. I hate to think of being this way for 2-3 more weeks at least. I have read online that not everyone goes through this when coming off, thank goodness! Guess I'm just one of the ones whose body liked it a little too much!
Hope you all have decreased pain this week-end.

Deb

Hi Deb,
Bummer that you're still struggling with these awful symptoms. I hope it all passes soon!

When you say the pellets aren't all the same, does that mean you have to eliminate a certain nuraber of each different type? Wow, there's gotta be an easier way! They should make a weaning pack with the pellets already decreased in each successive capsule.

Hope you feel better soon!

:bouncing::bouncing: I'm going to make it :bouncing::bouncing:
I'm over half way there....the withdrawal symptoms are decreasing every day. Only occasional nausea, a little bit of dizziness.....the pain is worse but I expected that and I can deal with it with my pain meRAB until I see the neuro next week. Anyway, I'm feeling almost normal (my hubby would have something smart to say about how normal I am :D ) I know I will probably have a few bad days when I stop completely but for now I'm just thankful that I've gotten a little break!!! Thank you guys for letting me vent when I was so afraid. Ya'll are the best!!

Hi Deb,
I'm so glad you feel abit better today, I can't take cyrabalta, took one pill and has in ER 2 days later with High BP, 213/104, I have had BP problems ever since then and that was like a year ago. Now I don't thinkthat one pill can do that but ya just gotta wonder don't you. That cyrabalta is an evil thing for me. I pray you get to normal soon.

God BLess

Hey Emily,
It seems that most doctors are not aware of the withdrawal symptoms from this drug and so do not tell their patients that coming off of it may be a problem. When doing research online it seems that the drug company, Eli Lilly, now knows that this is an issue and still has not sent info to the physicians informing them of this. The doctors who are aware give their patients a very slow taper over 4-6 weeks (my nurse case manager for W/C is coming off and is tapering over 4 weeks with decreasing doses). My PM told me to come off in 4 days!! Even the PDR says at least 2 weeks!! I went online and looked up Cyrabalta Withdrawal and found that a lot of people actually counted the pellets in their capsules and discarded some each day to avoid/decrease the withdrawal symptoms. Since the PM is the one who gave me the drug I felt I had no other choice but to try to wean myself. Another poster on this board had to do the same thing. So if you have a competent doctor prescribe the drug it should not be an issue coming off of it. I think this is a good drug for a lot of people and hopefully the drug company will step up to the plate and educate doctors on the proper way to stop the drug.
We finally got a warm, sunny day!! Enjoy!!

Yipes, Deb. I'm so sorry to hear that it's been so rough for you getting off this drug. I actually went off it once with no problems and then gave it another try and am still taking it. Guess I'm lucky in that regard.

So many of these central nervous system drugs are not well understood by the medical community. If I remeraber correctly, you're seeing a neuro soon and I hope that you get something that really works for you. It's amazing to me that the side effects that come with starting a drug are the same side effects you get when you discontinue. Go figure!

Yea!!!! What a relief that must be, to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I'm glad for you!
