Update on my previous update

I promised everyone an update after seeing the endrcrinologist. This Dr. ordered blood work---thought they were taking it all out of me....and urinalysis over a 24 hour period and a sonogram of my thyroid. Saw her Thursday. I have lumps on my thyroid as well as on the kidney. Everything seems ok for now. She put me on a thyroid hormone as my thyroid is underactive. This medication may make these lumps smaller. Without it, they could grow bigger and multiply. More blood work in 6 weeks and another CT scan of the kidney to see the progress on that one. So much for 2008 being a better year. Next on the agenda is the dreaded colonoscopy in 3 weeks. I have been seriously considering the 4th surgery. It would be a revision as one side did not fuse and another 1 level fusion. On the good side, the newest Grand baby is doing just fine!!!! Got to babysit a few times while the new Mom went to work. Needless to say, our dinner was late, and after dinner, I didn't move from the couch----spoiling time was needed!!!! Been a few too many years for me to hold a baby, feed the baby and cook dinner at the same time. Maybe after a few times I will remeraber how to do it.

Pat, I'm sorry to hear about these new (or at least newly diagnosed) problems, but it seems that they're on top of it. How do you feel?

Hubby just had his colonoscopy, two years late. He said afterward, with a grin, "next year it's your turn!" I informed him that women don't have to do that. I think he believed me, so maybe he won't nag me to go. Unfortunately, (no, fortunately, really) my family doctor takes good care of me and will make me do it!

Enjoy that grandbaby, don't worry about dinner being late, and let us know how you're doing.
