UNVEILED: Vodafone 845 by Huawei Android Smartphone shows its Face and Specs

Not on the show during the recent Mobile World Congress, it looks like Vodafone has another Android smartphone in work. We've just received some anonymous info and photos of a Vodafone branded smartphone which is said to be the Huawei "Joy" and is expected to hit Vodafone shops as the "Vodafone 845". The 845 features Android 2.1/Eclair and supports triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA at 900/2100 MHz, Bluetooth 2.1 WiFi b/g, a digital compass and an accelerometer. The 2.8" touchscreen supports the Android untypical QVGA resolution and the camera is said to support 3.2 megapixel.

However, the absolutely highlight seems to be the overall device-size! Thanks to its 2.8" touchscreen, the device is said to measure around 100 x 55 x 13 mm which would makes it the smallest full-featured Android 2.1 smartphone in the market today! That's even smaller than a HTC Tattoo Also interesting is the button layout and hardware keys: The Android home/back button is merged into one and instead of a rather traditional D-pad or stick, the device sports an optical navigation key - similar to Samsung's Omnia optical navigation key.

The photos above indicate that the Vodafone 845 seems to support the Vodafone 360 service, which Vodafone launched late last year. Nevertheless, it was also mentioned that all Google services (incl. Gmail, Market, Maps, etc.) are preinstalled and supported as well.
While a release date wasn't given yet, it was indicated that the device will hit European Vodafone markets in Q2 2010.which is slightly longer!
