Unusual bump on hand...Ganglion Cyst?

Hi,

I have had this bump on my left hand (palm side up) below the ring finger (next to the pinky on the left hand) and slightly to the right of the middle of the hand for about a couple of years, but I never felt any pain from it until recently. I do not feel the pain unless I apply force on that area of the hand.

Ex: If I am sitting down on the floor, and use my left hand to push myself up to my feet (palm down), I will feel a burning sensation on the left hand above the bump, but just below the crease in the hand, under the fingers. Should I have this checked?

Thank you,
-Brian

Brian,

I can give you a really good guess as to what that is. My DH has them they are called dupitryn's contractures. They are a tumor on the ligament. There are treatments for it.

Thank you for the reply msnova74. After reading about dupitryn's contractures on Wiki pedia, I feel alot better knowing it wasn't something worse.

Thanks again!
